Clockwise or counterclockwise ?Got this through email list from college classmate, thought it was pretty interesting. The email said it's associated with our brains (left side or right side) for different spin direction. At first I saw she spinning counterclockwise, and it fit my profile as an engineer (left brain), but I could also see she spin clock-wise after a few minutes. According to the email, there is about 14% of Americans can see both directions.
However, according to wiki, The spinning Dancer, it was 'wrongly' interpreted as related to brain, and it was mistakenly known as 'Right Brain–Left Brain test'. It has to do with the lack of depth dimension, ( since the picture is presented on a 2-D surface.) Another example cited on wiki is the Necker Cube.
I think that makes sense, the optical illusion, and reminded me of those popular '3-D' graphs years ago.
The author's website is quite interesting too : Nobuyuki Kayahara's website
I played for more than 5 minutes on the 3-points fractal, it's pretty creative. I wish it had sound effect, ha!
Have fun, happy new year!
