House 1 --- Santa Cruz Ave, 95051
Expanded living room, looks actually pretty cool, huh? :)
the fireplace shown in previous photo was to the right hand side of the kitchen. So if I knock out the wall and replace it with a center island, it would be facing directly to the fireplace.
Back door to the garage. Not sure why, but the garage roof is pretty low, as you can see the edge almost touched the door top.
Not very attractive front layout, especially with the low roof garage.
A closer look of entrance door. The trim/paint were peeling off, which is common for bank-owned houses.
Master bedroom. Hardwood floor is nice. Bathroom is small, or, tiny.

Market facts
==================
1460 sq ft. 3 bed/2 bath, 5000 sq ft lot
Started at $599k in June, which I thought was over priced.
Dropped twice to $525k in 2 months, and is pending now.
Pros:
Spacious living area, can open up kitchen to create a great room. Nice hardwood floors in all 3 bedrooms.
Both sides have 'patio', potentially could create an atrium on one side.
Conveniently located in a decent neighborhood in Santa Clara.
Cons:
Ugly structured outlook, unattractive curb appeal, which could highly affect resale value.
All 3 rooms are small, and crowded at the back. Small lot.
Immediate neighbors' houses are unattractive and possibly modified.

I've been looking for a little bit, too. I've been looking at some that are priced a little lower, though. Are you thinking about getting another house, then? I look forward to hearing more about your search!
I think you can do better. The kitchen looked pretty cramped and that's no good for someone who likes to cook and entertain.
Elliot, I am going to post at least 4 others I have looked and highly considered. Yes I am looking for a cheaper one, possibly some good deal. My search is pretty broad, including Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose (closer to west San Jose, Santana Row). What have you found so far?
Good luck to your search and come back to visit other houses reviewed :-)
Jeremy, yes the house needs open kitchen, but that would sacrifice some cabinet space. Well, perhaps make some pantry area in the garage... :)
