My lovely kitty, Mocca, came home late at night... with something in her mouth. I screamed, realizing it was a mouse within a few seconds. The thought of a cute cute innocent Mocca became a gross killer made me completely stunned for more than 10 minutes. I was so shocked and speechless. I thought it was a civilized world now and cats only catch mice to play for fun nowadays, if they do.
After I screamed, Mocca stepped outside, and started enjoying her late night snack. Eww... I managed to grab my camera to keep some evidence. Then I shut the door to leave her do whatever she likes as a nightgown in the wildness. Even the second day, I still felt afraid to get close to her, as the image was so vivid and made me feel sickening. I had to brain wash myself as it's animal's nature and there is nothing wrong with it. Perhaps she eats a mouse is just like we eat a chicken? We cook our chicken now that we 'evolved'. But ancient human beings did eat raw meat, right? Maybe it's just cruel to see eating something alive? Well, I wasn't sure if the mouse has been dead for a while, maybe Mocca found a dead body?
I did not find any visible 'leftover' by the door... I wonder if there is any way to prevent it from happening again :~|

Our family cat at home in Taipei once captured a sparrow from the balcony. I had to hold her neck down until she released the poor bird. The bird seemed dead for a while but eventually got the strength and flew away. As you know, she was well fed but she couldn't resist the temptation to capture small animals like this. She was amazingly fast when she was trying to capture a flying object, just like a small leopard. Really amazing!
I heard cats do catch birds too, but I have not seen mine doing that. They are really fast and most often very careful as well. I was just too astonished to see mine eating a mouse! Eventually the mouse disappeared into her tummy in stead of flew away...
